At an altitude of 1920 m, folded neatly away from swarming Manali, is The Sonaugi Homestead. Sonaugi’s farmland, where locals are said to have found golden wheat, was named after the ‘Land of the Golden Crop’. Painstakingly hand-built by Italian architect Eris Binda in the traditional Kath-Kuni construction style, this retreat blends with the rustic charm of its homeland and is a haven to come back to after a day of exploration.

Nothing is better than a day that begins from a place of peace and tranquility. Take some time to simply be, soak some sun, and let your mind wander. Enjoy a morning read from our humble but rich library, play some games with friends or family, or just laze on the grass and indulge in conversations. If you're an animal lover, our friendly dogs and hens are always looking to make new friends.

Befriend Nature

Embark on a guided walk through the scenic woodland of Sonaugi. Here, you can hear the gentle murmur of the Beas River flowing down in the valley, just a 20-minute walk away. The woodland is covered in dense Himalayan Cedar (Deodar) and apple orchards, making for an interesting walk and breathtaking vistas along the way. When you're back, you'll be greeted by much-deserved cups of coffee or tea that you can enjoy while relaxing on a hammock!

Evenings by the Dhunna

As the sun sets, gather around the Dhunna, the veritable heart and soul of our homestead. With a sit-down dining space and a huge fireplace in the centre, delicious dinner goes hand-in-hand merry conversations about the happenings of the day.
