Sustainability is not a challenge, it's a responsibility.

In our 30 years of existence, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to protect and conserve conditions that allow for life to thrive on the planet. Traveling is a transformative experience, not just for travellers, but also for our planet. As an organisation, we aim to instill responsible travel practices in order to preserve the conditions that support life on this planet for our future generations. We are dedicated to minimising our impact and ensuring that every journey with us contributes positively to the communities and environments we explore.

As members of the Travel & Tourism industry, an industry that contributes to over 8% of global carbon emissions, we’re wholeheartedly dedicated to ensuring our impact on Earth is positive. To uphold this responsibility, we’ve partnered with Integrated Climate Initiatives Pvt Ltd, who will help us create sustainable travel, and help our travellers journey with open eyes.

Mapping our carbon emissions

To understand our impact and mitigate our carbon footprint, in 2023 we are working with Integrated Climate Initiatives Pvt. Ltd. to undertake rigorous efforts to map our carbon emissions across all aspects of our services; from stays to adventures and journeys. By analysing our emissions, we’ll gain valuable insights into areas that need improvement and identify opportunities to reduce our carbon impact.

Reducing our carbon footprint

We are continuously striving to implement sustainable practices. We adopt sustainable transportation alternatives whenever possible, choose low-emission vehicles, and promote the use of public transportation. This is accomplished by encouraging behavioural shifts such as increased reliance on renewable sources of energy at our stays, increased reliance on local procurement to reduce packaging and transportation needs, and letting go of single use plastic across our adventures and stays.

Offsetting our emissions

While we endeavour to minimise our carbon footprint as much as possible, we acknowledge that some emissions are inevitable. To address this, from 2024, we will be partnering with reputable carbon offsetting initiatives that invest in projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. These projects include reforestation efforts, renewable energy development, and community-based sustainable development initiatives. The future of your travel with Banjara Experiences will mean that a portion of your travel cost goes directly towards supporting these carbon offsetting projects. Not only will this help neutralize the impact of your journey, but also contribute positively to the communities and environments you visit with us.

Community engagement and empowerment

Responsible travel goes beyond just reducing carbon emissions; it also entails making a positive impact on local communities. Most of our services are in remote and sensitive areas and we are dedicated to engaging with local communities in a meaningful and respectful manner by supporting local businesses and artisans to ensure that the economic benefits of tourism are shared among the people who call these destinations their home.

Leave no trace

An essential aspect of responsible travel is leaving no trace of our presence in the places we visit. We promote the principles of ‘Leave No Trace’ and encourage travellers to respect the natural environment and cultural heritage of destinations by minimising waste, picking up litter, and following ethical guidelines.

Be a responsible traveller

We believe that responsible travel should not be something that we must do in addition to travelling, rather, it should be the natural way to travel. Together, let's be nomadic in nature, responsibly.

Book your next stay, adventure, or journey with us and be a responsible traveller!
