Beginning in the picturesque village of Chitkul, the trail meanders through enchanting forests, vibrant meadows, and challenging terrain, culminating at the majestic Lamkhaga Pass, where panoramic views of towering peaks await. The trek concludes in Harsil, a tranquil haven, offering a perfect ending to an unforgettable adventure tailored for seasoned trekkers seeking both challenge and beauty in the mountains.
Please Note: The trek goes over a high altitude pass and not recommended for absolute beginners.
1Take a scenic drive from Chandigarh to Thanedar, nestled in the Upper Shimla region. Known for its lush apple orchards and stunning Himalayan vistas, Thanedar offers a peaceful retreat in the hills.
2Take a scenic drive from Thanedar to the charming village of Batseri, known for its traditional wooden houses and tranquil setting along the Baspa River.
3Drive from Batseri to the picturesque village of Chitkul, the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibetan border, known for its pristine landscapes, traditional wooden homes, and views of the snow-capped Kinnaur Kailash range.
4Acclimatise in the serene village of Chitkul.
5Drive from Chitkul to Dumti, where we set up our first camp. Dumti, a remote and serene spot along the Baspa River, offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by towering peaks and untouched natural beauty, setting the tone for the adventure ahead.
6Trek from Dumti to Gundar camp, journeying through varied terrain and alpine meadows. As you ascend, enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding mountains before settling in at the tranquil Gundar camp, nestled amid the serene wilderness.
7Trek from Gundar to Base Camp 1.
8Trek from Base Camp 1 to Advance Base Camp.
9Trek from Advanced Base Camp to Lamkhaga Pass (5281 m), where you’ll be greeted by panoramic views of the majestic peaks that surround you. After crossing the pass, descend to the Base Camp on the Uttarakhand side (4450 m), soaking in the breathtaking scenery along the way.
10Trek from Uttarakhand Base Camp to Kyorkati.
11Trek from Kyorkati to Harsil, descending through lush landscapes and picturesque trails that lead you back to the charming village. Along the way, enjoy the serene beauty of the surrounding valleys, dotted with vibrant flora and fauna
12Buffer / Contingency Day.
13Drive from Harsil to Dehradun.
14Today is the last morning of the trip, from here we take our flights or drive out of Dehradun and to our respective destinations. Until we meet again!
