Gear up to test your mountain driving skills with an exhilarating self-drive Himalayan safari that will take you through paths you never even imagined! Over a duration of 10 days, we'll drive through some of the most remote and pristine regions of the North-Western Indian Himalayas while experiencing immersive camps and relaxing picnics on the way. The drive via Shinku La from Himachal, to the Zanskar region of Ladakh, and from Zanskar to Lamayuru via Singe La, is challenging and sure to get any driving enthusiast excited!
Please Note: If you have some experience of high-altitude mountain driving, then this expedition is recommended for you.
1Arrive at Kullu. Rest, acclimatise, and explore the valley.
2Start off with a drive from Manali to the starkly different landscape of Gemur / Jispa via Attal Tunnel.
3Stay at Gemur and acclimate with an optional drive till Baralacha La Pass.
4Begin the remote journey as you drive from Gemur to Purne over Shinku La. Stop for a picnic lunch at Gombo Rajan.
5Hike from Purne to Phuktal. Return and drive to Padum.
6Drive from Padum to Lamayuru via Zangla, crossing Singe La, Wanla and Sirsir La.
7Drive from Lamayuru to Kargil.
8Drive from Kargil to the lush green valleys of Kashmir. Reach Srinanagar and enjoy a relaxing sunset shikara ride.
9Explore Srinagar.
10Srinagar to your respective destination.
